The USB 
Turbo Quad 4 utilizes Lucent’ s QuardaBus technology, which
allows a single PCI card to provide four independent Full Speed USB
Ports. 
The 
Turbo Quad 4 provides four separate USB Host controllers.  Each
host controller provides the full 12 MB/sec USB bandwidth for low (1.5
Mb/sec.) and Full (12 Mb/sec.) speed peripherals.
The  Turbo  Quad  4  is  an  OpenHCI  compliant  board,  which  means  it
works with Mac and Windows based computers while providing signifi-
cant USB performance benefits and reduced CPU overhead.
The USB Turbo Quad 4 offers a powerful performance advantage over
all other USB host controllers by providing full USB bandwidth for each
port rather than sharing USB bandwidth over all ports.  This results in
an increase in the number of devices that can simultaneously operate.  
Only  the  USB  Turbo  Quad  4  ensures  High-Bandwidth  simultaneous
operation  of  USB  devices  such  as  cameras,  speakers,  scanners,
modems and other bandwidth intensive peripherals.
