The new DC 5222 sees a Minox digital camera
once again incorporating modern technology
and innovative features in a handily compact
design. The prime features of a 5.2 million
pixel CCD chip, 3x optical zoom and unusually
large 2.5” TFT color monitor all housed in a
smart aluminum body measuring just 88.5mm
x 24mm x 54.5mm give this quality digital
camera not only a smart look but produces the
results to match.
The camera’s 5.2MP CCD sensor, multicoated
autofocus Minoctar lens (equivalent to 32-96
mm on a 35 mm camera) with Macro feature
and a 3x optical zoom offers the creative user
plenty of opportunities for taking great photos
in a multitude of situations. The oversized 2.5’’
TFT color monitor offers easy viewing of the
image before and immediately after the shot,
and thanks to its quality can also be easily
viewed in brightly lit areas. Images can be
stored on SD cards of up to 512MB capacity. A
32MB card is included with the camera to get
you started.The automatic white balance mode
ensures correct exposure and true colours even
in difficult light conditions, while the six user-
selectable settings include a fully manual mode
and five preset modes for variable indoor and
outdoor lighting conditions. The four flash
modes, including red-eye reduction and fill-in
flash, provide ample scope for taking images in
many difficult lighting conditions.
A startup time of less than one second, minimal
shutter lag and rapid image sequence when in
continuous shooting mode allow spontaneous
snapshots whatever the situation. The MINOX
DC 5222 can also record and store medium or
low-resolution video clips of up to 30 seconds
duration as well as giving the user the ability to
attach voice-memos to any still images taken.
The USB interface of the DC 5222 allows for
quick and easy downloading of the images to
a computer directly from the camera. Using the
supplied software, the photos can be touched
up on the PC if needed and then printed or
e-mailed directly to others.
